If Aaron Rodgers is going to play for the New York Jets, he wants to do it his own way, and with some of his friends. Rodgers has given the Jets a 'Wish List' of players he wants the team to target and/or sign, because of course he has. The list includes former teammates Allen Lazard, Marcedes Lewis, best friend Randall Cobb, and Odell Beckham Jr.
One of them is already checked off the list - Lazard signed a four-year, $44 million contract with New York on Tuesday. The rest? Unsure, although the Jets did attend an open workout that OBJ held in Arizona late last week.
The Jets also have Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson, Elijah Moore, Corey Davis, and Denzel Mims in their wide receiver room. Not bad. So why does Rodgers want all these older guys in the room, unless he's on a complete power trip? He's already holding two teams hostage during the peak of free agency - the Jets and the team that is hoping to trade him, the Green Bay Packers. Neither can do much until there's a resolution. Hopefully one is coming soon, as Rodgers is scheduled to appear on his friend, Pat McAfee's show on Wednesday at 1pm. more QB news:

Derek Carr has found his new home. Carr is signing a four-year deal with the New Orleans Saints.
The Saints were the first to show interest in Carr, even proposing a trade before he was released from the Las Vegas Raiders. Carr is a noticeable boost from last year's Andy Dalton Experiment and should considerably boost wide receiver Chris Olave's production.
The best nod for Carr, however, is that he gets out of the toughest division in football - playing Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert twice a year - to one of the easiest, where he's currently the best QB in the division. How long that will last is to be seen. Carolina seems set on drafting a QB, while the Falcons and Bucs could explore trade options for vet QBs. The numbers?
Carr also received a no-trade clause as part of his new deal. more Qb news:
The 2023 NFL Scouting Combine begins this week, and many eyes will be on the quarterbacks. With several teams desperate for a competent QB, some may have to wait for Pro Days before seeing what the young guys can do. Alabama QB Bryce Young will save it for his Pro Day, while other top draft candidates, Ohio State's CJ Stroud and Florida's Anthony Richardson, are expected to workout and throw at the Combine. Kentucky QB Will Levis will also throw at the Combine.

Tom Brady retired, and now there's an opening for the quarterback job in Tampa Bay. 2021 second-round pick Kyle Trask is still there and has a fan in new offensive coordinator Dave Canales.
more Qb News:
On the one-year anniversary of his retiring for the first time, Tom Brady has retired again. And this time, it seems like it's for real (maybe). Brady wanted to announce his decision via video rather than the lengthy, drawn-out statement he put out last February. He said it's for good this time, but I'll believe that when I see it.
There were plenty of rumors about Brady playing elsewhere in 2023 - Las Vegas and San Francisco being the two favorites - and then a return to Tampa Bay was also floated as a possibility. It came down to a return to the Buccaneers and retirement. The Bucs found out about his decision around the same time we did.

With Tua Tagovailoa remaining in the NFL's concussion protocol, the Miami Dolphins are preparing to start rookie QB Skylar Thompson in the Wild Card round against the Buffalo Bills. Head coach Mike McDaniel remains mum on Tagovailoa's status after suffering a series of concussions this season, most recently on Christmas Day. Prayers up to Thompson, who faces a tough Buffalo defense this weekend. ??

We may have seen the last of Jalen Hurts in the regular season. During this week's Philadelphia Eagles win, Hurts was tackled into the turf, where he suffered a sprained shoulder.
Hurts did have an MRI on Monday, which was negative and showed that the injury wasn't serious, but it may be severe enough to pull him out for the next two weeks. The Eagles want him at his healthiest heading into the playoffs. Backup QB Gardner Minshew will take Hurts' spot until he's ready to go, and it looks like that will happen at least this weekend against the Dallas Cowboys. more Qb news:

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray suffered a non-contact knee injury on the third play during Monday Night Football.
Murray was in the middle of a scramble when his knee appeared to buckle. (I'm not going to post the video, but you can look for it if you want to see it.) Murray was carted off the field, surrounded by teammates, and quickly ruled questionable to return. Murray was later ruled out by the team in the second quarter with a knee injury. Backup QB Colt McCoy replaced him.
Reports began to emerge throughout the game that Murray had torn his ACL. Murray will have an MRI on Tuesday to confirm.

The Atlanta Falcons are on a bye this week but come Week 15; they'll have a new quarterback. The team is benching starter Marcus Mariota in favor of rookie QB Desmond Ridder, a move that came too late, in my opinion.
Ridder was selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft after being a standout at Cincinnati. Ridder has not taken any regular season snaps yet, but he'll have extra time to prepare.
More importantly, Ridder's performance over the last quarter of the NFL season should give the team some clarity on if he is their QB of the Future. More QB news:
