The Philadelphia Eagles remain the lone unbeaten team in the NFL with a 29-17 win over the Houston Texans.
Quaterback Jalen Hurts completed 20 of 26 passes for 241 yards and two touchdowns, including this one to tight end Dallas Goedert.

The Los Angeles Rams kick off the 2022 NFL season on Thursday, but one of its members who won a ring with the team will be absent. Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is a free agent, as he's been nursing a knee injury this offseason. However, reports surfaced on Monday that the Rams have kept Beckham's locker (with the nameplate - very important) intact, perhaps keeping him in mind when he's healthy and ready to return. Adding fuel to the fire, Beckham tweeted on Tuesday that he would be watching the game very closely, which led to questions of whether his decision to sign was between the Rams and their opponent, the Buffalo Bills.
One thing to note: The Rams and Buffalo are two teams linked to landing the star WR this off-season. While a resolution might not come until later in the season due to his recovery, Beckham could certainly have to decide between these two teams, which may not be a bad problem to have. more:
The raiders started off strong
While the Cleveland Browns are absolutely depleted with COVID, the Las Vegas Raiders started things off on the right foot. Quarterback Derek Carr threw a touchdown pass to wide receiver Bryan Edwards for a 7-0 lead.
the Browns get in the game with a chubb
With their entire team on the COVID list -- literally -- the Browns were finally able to get something going on offense in the third quarter. Running back Nick Chubb took the ball in the endzone with a four-yard run.
they almost didn't... but the Raiders won
If the Raiders had lost this game, they deserved to forfeit every remaining game on their schedule. But, no. They managed to pull it off with an excellent game-winning drive by Carr. But it was Daniel Carlson who managed to kick it for a 16-14 win.
kirk cousins gets the vikings on the board first
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins was the one to get his team on the board first. Cousins threw a 12-yard touchdown to wide receiver Justin Jefferson for a 7-0 lead over the Chicago Bears.
Ihmir smith-marsette scores first career touchdown
Vikings wide receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette is seeing a lot of playing time due to the absence of Adam Thielen, and his second career catch was for a touchdown. This score put Minnesota up over the Bears 17-3.
Eric Kendricks ejected for late hit
Vikings linebacker Eric Kendricks was ejected in the fourth quarter for a late hit on Bears QB Justin Fields. Kendricks hit Fields as he was sliding, helmet-to-helmet, which is a major no-no.
vikings win over bears
If you haven't been able to guess by now, Minnesota beat the struggling Bears, despite this last-second (literally) touchdown from Fields. The Vikings won 17-9.
buccaneers
We all remember when Tom Brady was fined $10,000 for sliding and purposefully ("accidentally," according to him) kicked Ed Reed in the leg, right? Well, it appears he may have done it again. Brady slid during a scramble in Monday night's Tampa Bay Buccaneers win against the New York Giants, and as he slid, Brady raised his leg right into Giants DB Xavier McKinney's lower leg. So, what do you think? Accident or on purpose?
Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens were able to squeeze out a win on Sunday without starting quarterback Lamar Jackson, and it looks like he'll be well enough to be under-center next week. Head coach John Harbaugh said, "he felt good today. I don't know how good. But he feels much better today, from what I was told." So have we figured out WHY the Ravens made him travel to Chicago in the first place? Let me know.
vikings
I can't believe I'm saying this, but Kirk Cousins has been the main reason for the Minnesota Vikings' success this season. (Before you ask me if 5-5 is considered "successful," they're currently in playoff position and have had back-t0-back wins. Baby steps.) Cousins has been taking more shots downfield, and it's been paying off. Of course, head coach Mike Zimmer wouldn't mind if Cousins continued to do more of that. "I want Cousins to keep doing it like he's doing it. He can't second-guess himself."
Washington
This season, Washington Football Team quarterback Taylor Heinicke was thrown to the wolves as the starter after Ryan Fitzpatrick was injured. Through an up-and-down season, Heinicke is currently on the "up" trajectory. Head coach Ron Rivera acknowledged that Heinicke has continued to grow throughout the season. "What we want from that position is a guy that can manage it and then make plays when he needs to. And this is what this guy does. He's smart. He understands the game. He's just a guy that, again, has only had 11 starts, and we'll see how it continues to go." Heinicke is totally gonna trick Washington into not drafting a quarterback again, isn't he?
packers
After Aaron Rodgers' COVID fiasco, there's another roadblock in his way: an injured toe. Rodgers has said it's a little worse than turf toe, and it's pretty painful. However, Rodgers plans to play through the injury, as it's likely his last season with the Green Bay Packers.
jets
Heavy sigh. On Tuesday, the New York Jets announced that rookie QB Zach Wilson was cleared to start on Sunday against the Houston Texans. That's good for them because they don't have many other options. After being listed as close contacts, the Jets put both Joe Flacco and Mike White on the COVID-19 reserve list. Don't say it.

Minnesota Vikings guard Dru Samia received a positive COVID-19 test Sunday, and will be out for Monday's game against the Chicago Bears.
Samia will not travel with the team, and contract tracing is being done to determine his "close contacts," even though he practices with literally the entire team. |
