Ben Roethlisberger says Vontaze Burfict threatened JuJu Smith-Schuster

If Ben Roethlisberger says you're a bad person, you probably are. The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback claimed Cincinnati Bengals linebacker and dirty football player Vontaze Burfict threatened Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, gesturing to him and saying, "You're next." This is like the Scream movies. “He hits A.B., then, literally, as I am under center for the next play, he points at JuJu and says, ‘You’re next. How do you allow that stuff?”

Offensive lineman Al Villanueva  also had some words to say about Burfict.
“Burfict is a really good football player and I think everybody in this locker room has respect for what he can do on the field. That hit on A.B, it’s unnecessary. It’s bad for the game. It’s hurting the National Football League. It’s hurting fans that are deciding if they want to let their kids play football. It’s injuring players in the NFL that are going to have consequences after football. I think there’s no place for that behavior. For him to come out and continue to talk and continue to make this game something more than a football game, it’s very unfortunate.”

Did Burfict threaten Smith-Schuster? There's no audio of said threat, but here's video. Judge for yourself.

I can 100% see the NFL slapping a measly fine on Burfict while they robbed TJ Watt of his paycheck.

buzz-worthy:

  • In other (obvious) Steelers news, the team doesn't expect RB Le'Veon Bell to show up this week like he said he would. Color me shocked.
  • After Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson broke up, she gave back her engagement ring, but got to keep what actually matters - their pig, Piggy Smallz. We all know Pete didn't pay for that ring, c'mon. She paid for everything.
  • -spins the Matt Ryan Excuse Wheel for this week - Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman is being put on injured reserve with a  groin injury. He's slated to have surgery and could possibly return if all goes well. Maybe they'll have three whole wins by then.
  • This is just incredible. There's a website (isgrudengoneyet.com - just click it now, it's amazing) which is tracking the amount of money Oakland Raiders head coach Jon Gruden is owed and the time left on his contract.
  • Buffalo Bills rookie QB Josh Allen left Sunday's game with an elbow injury and is currently expected to miss two or three games. He doesn't need that weird baseball player elbow surgery, either.
  • New York Giants owner John Mara said his star WR Odell Beckham, Jr. needs to do, "a little more playing and a lot less talking." A) This team would've been a dumpster fire for the past God knows how many seasons without Beckham. B) We just gonna ignore the real problem Johnny? This is something I'd expect Dan Snyder to say.
  • The Dallas Cowboys are staying an extra night in Washington DC (actually Landover, MD) so the team can go to the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Now, I'm a huge fucking nerd and I love museums so I am all for this. I think more teams should do things like this. Somewhere in Jerry World, I'm sure Jerry Jones is trying to take credit for this, but I refuse to believe this shit was his idea.
  • I have retired from all fantasy football activities, but for those who haven't: New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said that WR Josh Gordon's role will be "...expanding weekly and we’ll just see how it all plays out.”
  • After a monster performance on Monday night, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is hoping he can get rid of his knee brace after his bye week.
  • Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp will miss at least a week with a knee injury.
