Best drinks to drink during Super Bowl Sunday

Most bloggers are currently sharing their favorite appetizer recipes, taco dips, and healthy dishes for the Super Bowl while you watch the commercials, but I am here to tell you to drink, eat all the food, and watch the fuckin game.

So, when picking a drink to consume during the biggest game day of the year, you want to pick something that you: a) won't get super wasted super quickly and embarrass yourself at your Super Bowl party, b) something that won't make you fall asleep at halftime, and c) won't fill you up because you want to enjoy all of the Super Bowl snacks. I'm a firm believer that calories don't count on game days and Super Bowl Sunday is no exception.

These drinks are out for me:
  • Craft beer - too filling, I need some room for the food
  • Straight liquor - you WILL regret this. My friends and I used to do shots for touchdowns during Ravens games back in the day - not sure how we managed that one, but we definitely can't do that anymore.
  • Anything sweet - one is fine, but I can't drink too much sugar, it gives me a headache

My top pick: Coors Light

Make fun of me all you want, tell me I'm just drinking water. Jokes on you, cause I'm gonna drink this stuff all day and still be able to function. It's super refreshing, and goes with anything, which is definitely a plus for a Super Bowl party when you have a coffee table full of snacks.

Also, for those of you who don't go with my mantra that calories don't count during game days, each 12 oz. serving is only 102 calories.

They even have a cool rewards program, if you drink a lot of it. Check that out here.

Other options for non-beer drinkers:
  • Bloody Marys - this is more of a breakfast/lunchtime drink in my book, but if they're made correctly, they're delicious at any time of the day. My best friend Hannah makes the best Bloodys and it's our staple for those 1pm games on Sundays.
  • Champagne - unfortunately, I do not have a dog in the race this season and the champagne will not be celebratory unless Tom Brady loses another Super Bowl (which I doubt). Last year, it was obviously popped due to a Matt Ryan L.
  • A light mixed drink - A rum & diet, a Titos & vodka both good options as long as you don't down them in one sip, which, I might.
Thanks to Coors Light for sponsoring this post; but all ideas are my own. My mountains will always be blue.
Leave me a comment and let me know what you're stocking up on for Super Bowl Sunday!
