Today is a day that will forever hold purpose and meaning to my life. I will cherish this date forever.

Everyone just have a great day. A fantastic day. This is the opposite of Friday the 13th for me. Just a day that proves that even when you think you're gonna have to get a tattoo of Matt Ryan's name in a heart - the world has a funny way of turning things around.

Buzz-worthy -

  • Allen Hurns chose his new number in Dallas as tribute to the Florida school shooting victims. Former Jags wide receiver (and failed Ravens replacement candidate) obviously needed a new number since #88 is taken by Dez Bryant. He chose #17 - to honor the 17 victims of the shooting. More stories like this, please.
  • Trevone Boykin, Seahawks QB and horrible person, has been accused of domestic assault and breaking his girlfriend's jaw. Seattle ended up releasing him on Tuesday after the story came out. The account and photos are god-awful, so please look/read on your own, and don't say I made you do it. Boykin is no stranger to trouble, and of course he said the story is false.
  • Peyton Manning turned down FOX and won't call Thursday Night Football games, at least not for this season. Manning also turned down ESPN's Monday Night Football job, meaning we probably won't see Manning commentating on any games this season. Just Nationwide commercials.
  • Derrick Mason was  indicted on misdemeanor assault charges, after an incident in October that involved his former girlfriend after she wanted to break up with him. The former Ravens WR (and all-time leading receiver) was also accused of vandalism after he kicked a hole in the door, which was later dropped.
  • NFL's new catch rule was passed unanimously on Tuesday at the Owners' Meetings in Orlando. We still don't really know what a catch is.
  • In other NFL rule changes, their new targeting rule is laughable. We definitely won't see more reviews, or more bogus calls due to this rule. Definitely not. Not at all. Nope.
  • Mike Tomlin doesn't like touchdown celebrations. The Steelers' head coach spewed off this ridiculous statement about how it takes away from the game and something about young people. Because tripping players on the sidelines definitely does not take away from the game either.
  • Johnny Manziel says he'll play in the CFL if the NFL doesn't work out. Manziel threw at Tuesday's Texas A&M Pro Day, where he also spoke with the New England Patriots before and afterwards. Open-ended question: Manziel is gonna get a job before Kaepernick isn't he?
  • The budget for the Los Angeles' Rams new stadium has doubled, which should surprise no one. A venue that was said to cost -only- $2.5 billion, is now being given a $5 billion budget. For that much, that stadium better hire literal aliens to bring me beers and I better be sitting on a fucking magic carpet.
  • Houston signed 76-year old quarterback Brandon Weeden to back up Deshaun Watson while he recovers from an ACL injury. I'd bring up some stats, but I'll just say he sucks and leave it at that.

What I'm reading today -

  • John Harbaugh: Ravens giving Josh Woodrum a shot at backup quarterback (RavensWire)
  • LAPD believe body found in shallow grave is missing model/actress Adea Shabani (FOX LA)
  • Aly Raisman calls out critics who think gymnastics leotards lead to sexual assault (Cosmopolitan)
  • Gisele Bündchen says Tom Brady is more into fashion than she is (For the Win)
  • "I signed up for this": Terrell Suggs isn't letting a changing NFL change him (Bleacher Report)

Last Word -

Just found out that today is National Joe Day. For all of those named Joe, have a cup of Joe to celebrate.
