So I went through a long weekend of mentions from Oakland Raiders fans on Twitter telling me I was wrong when I mentioned that the reason they cut punter Marquette King was because Gruden didn't like his personality. They spent three days (3 WHOLE DAYS) trashing me, calling me a bitch and other wonderful things, the whole 9. Turns out I was right the whole time, like I knew I was.
This is what got them all worked up.
They were telling me it was because of penalties. That he had too many Instagram followers, that he dressed up in a costume once. And then, what do you know, this story comes out about how Jon Gruden wasn't a fan of his personality.
Good, constant punters are hard to come by. They're not the most glorified position in the NFL, but when they're consistent, they benefit the team. Sam Koch was my Ravens MVP last season as he was literally the only consistent player on the team. Punters most likely aren't gonna win a game for you, or be the difference maker, but the good ones can help put you in the position to get there.
Oakland doesn't even want the Oakland Raiders anymore. Get out of here.
