Derek Anderson gets start for Bills over Nathan Peterman

Honestly didn't even know what this dude looked like until I Google-Imaged him to post this. With starter QB Josh Allen out for at least a few weeks, the Buffalo Bills were duped into starting either Nathan Peterman or Derek Anderson. Not that it really matters, but they decided to go with Anderson, who has been on the team for two whole weeks! If that doesn't tell you how bad Peterman is, I don't know what will (or just watch him).

Coach Sean McDermott did his best to sound confident about the situation, saying what every coach will say when backed up against a wall: “I’m always going to do what I feel is right for this football team. I certainly trust and have a heck of a lot of respect for our locker room.”

Mhmm.

buzz-worthy:

  • With QB Baker Mayfield in the top slot, Cleveland Browns backup QB Tyrod Taylor admits he's frustrated, but also isn't begging for a trade. “Of course, I love to compete and I want to be out there playing, but I have not thought about those opportunities. Like I said, more so just focusing on getting better and doing things that I can help this team in any way. . . . I just continue to keep my head down and continue to keep working, like I said, helping the team.”
  • Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz is hurt again. Kind of. He was limited in practice with a back injury but should be back this week. I feel limited with a back injury every single day, so I get it.
  • Speaking of being hurt, Dallas Cowboys LB Sean Lee is not hurt anymore for once. Lee practiced for the first time on Wednesday since his latest injury - a hamstring.
  • Even though they suck, head coach Jon Gruden insists the Oakland Raiders aren't tanking. "We are not getting up at 4 o’clock in the morning to tank it. Ain’t nobody tanking it. I don’t know who wrote that or who said that or who thinks that, but that isn’t the case here. We are going to continue to work hard, continue to build our team and that was part of the message.” Tell us how you really feel.
  • The Miami Dolphins are starting QB Brock Osweiler again for some reason. Not sure when starter (allegedly) Ryan Tannehill will be back, but it won't be this week.
  • SPEAKING OF... The NFL is supposedly going to "investigate" (I'm putting this in quotes because it's either a complete joke or a completely overwhelming one) the way the Dolphins reported Tannehill's injury. Long story short, several people think he should have been listed as 'doubtful' rather than 'questionable' on the injury report. Can't wait for this one, folks.
  • New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman is hurt again, I'll try not to look at your 'shocked face.' He was limited in practice on Wednesday with a heel injury. Edelman was suspended for the first four games of this season for PEDs, so it sounds like he needs to restock.
  • Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan backed out of buying Wembley Stadium. His statement included a bunch of big words, but basically said that he decided against it. This should put an end to the 'Jags to London' movement at least for a little while.
  • Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton returned to practice on Wednesday after missing the past two games with a hamstring injury.
  • The Patriots fan that tossed a beer onto Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill after a 75-yard touchdown last week will not only be banned for life from Gillette Stadium, but he'll also face disorderly conduct charges. Well-deserved for wasting beer.
