stunner: Luke Kuechly retires

Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly announced his retirement on Tuesday night, saying he knew it was "the right thing to do."

I lost count of how many concussions he's had, so it's probably for the best, but the league is a better place with Kuechly in it. His parting resume includes five first-team All-Pro selections, Defensive Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and if you're into that sort of thing, seven Pro Bowl nods.

As I said on Twitter, it is really hard to think about yourself and do what's best for yourself, not only at a young age, but in a team-centered sport. Good for him.

joe brady leaves lsu for panthers

LSU's passing game coordinator Joe Brady is making his return to the NFL with the Carolina Panthers as their offensive coordinator.

Panthers’ owner David Tepper wanted Matt Rhule as his head coach, and Rhule wanted Joe Brady as his offensive coordinator, and both men got what they wanted. Brady will run Carolina’s offense.

Brady was previously with the New Orleans Saints for two seasons, before taking the job at LSU. Can't wait for all the "Joe Burrow to Panthers" rumors to start. Or have they already started?

Quite a nice resume for him: Eight Pro Bowl nods and the most touchdown catches by a tight end in the NFL. Not bad for sixteen seasons.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't be surprised if his teammate QB Philip Rivers isn't too far behind (even though he said he wasn't).

the chicago bears are moving

No, not like that. The team will hold their 2020 training camp in Halas Hall this year. I have no idea what that is, to be honest, so thankfully there are people to explain it to me.

The #Bears just sunk a ton of money into essentially doubling the size of Halas Hall. They have all kinds of technology, training and rehab tools now that couldn’t all be packed up and moved to Bourbonnais. Holding camp in Lake Forest makes sense and shouldn’t be that surprising.
