It's the first day of Super Bowl week and I'm already sick of Tom Brady

I've already had it.

The New England Patriots are headed to the Super Bowl this weekend, like absolutely no one expected. No one!

Ahhh yes. A true underdog story of a team who has had such a tough road every year in their tough-as-nails division, all the while making all the doubters eat their words! A team who hasn't seen the Super Bowl since... last year.

Excuse me while my eyes roll out of my head and onto the floor.

extra points:

  • This was expected since Washington Redskins QB Alex Smith was seen last weekend with a robot contraption surrounding his injured leg, but the team is planning on Smith being out for at least next season. This means they need a QB. Please pray for whomever they choose.
  • Detroit Lions LB Trevor Bates had a fun weekend. He refused to pay his cab fare (hello, you're an NFL player) and was arrested. He then pulled out his taser lines or whatever they're called and punched a police officer (this my or may not have happened in that order). Not great!
  • GOOD DEED ALERT: Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin partnered with Northwest Harvest to collect food donations for furloughed government employees.
  • The Indianapolis Colts and K Adam Vinateri agreed on a new contract this weekend, meaning he will basically play forever.
  • Philadelphia Eagles DE Chris Long said he might retire, unless he decides not to.
  • For anyone who didn't watch the Pro Bowl (aka me and most of you I hope), Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes was named the offensive MVP, while New York Jets' S Jamal Adams took the defensive MVP award.
  • Daniel Radcliffe, aka Harry Potter, had some choice words to say about Tom Brady. Never seen Harry Potter, but after this I feel like I must.
  • Speaking of.... a ten-year-old won the science fair and proved Brady cheated at the same time. This kid is either my hero, or a child I didn't know I had.
  • DeAngelo Hall (or, as I like to call him, DeAngeslow Hall) interviewed with the Redskins for a coaching job. I don't even have a joke about this.
  • And, unfortunately, Brady says there's a "zero" percent chance of him retiring after Sunday's game. This is getting exhausting.
