James Harrison has the dumbest suggestion ever for Le'Veon Bell

The Pittsburgh Steelers are the best soap opera on television. Their former LB James Harrison is just adding to it at this point, with an idea for RB Le'Veon Bell that makes me roll my eyes straight out of my head. Ready for this?

“I think the play for Le’Veon, if I’m Le’Veon, is I’m coming back — what is it, November 13? — and I’m gonna go in there, I’m gonna get my credit for the season I need to get, and I’m gonna do the best I can to get out of that season healthy. And, for me, I’d give you everything in practice, you would see — the cameras would see — that I am fine, I am healthy. But come Saturday, ‘Something ain’t right, I can’t play on Sunday.’ Because if I go out here and I mess something up I’m losing a lot of money."

THAT WON'T BE OBVIOUS AT ALL, GUYS. NOT AT ALL.

buzz-worthy:

  • This is basically a Josh Rosen fan site by now. After being named the Arizona Cardinals starting QB, Rosen said not a lot will change in how he preps for games, saying he always prepares like he'll be starting, and is "balls to the wall all the time." HELL. YES. BRO.
  • Marcus Mariota will start at QB for the Tennessee Titans this weekend after having an elbow injury so bad that he couldn't tie his shoes. What could go wrong?
  • Baltimore Ravens first-round pick Hayden Hurst practiced for the first time in like ever on Wednesday. It's unclear whether he will play this week, but with their luck with first-rounders and injuries, I'd prefer they let this one sit a while longer.
  • Aside from getting humiliated on television, Tampa Bay Bucs S Chris Conte was apparently playing through a torn PCL and shouldn't have even been on the field anyway. The viral video could have been avoided in mere seconds.
  • The Dallas Cowboys STINK. Head coach Jason Garrett said on Wednesday that the team won't make any "dramatic" changes to the staff, even though they need to blow up the place starting with Jerry Jones, imqho (in my quite honest opinion).
  • Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffrey has been finally cleared for contact, even though no decision has been made whether he'll return to the field this weekend. Alshon had shoulder surgery this offseason.
  • Stop me if you've heard this before, but Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck is on the team's injury report as of Wednesday.
  • New York Jets S Jamal Adams said the team wasn't prepared at all for Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield. Uhhh, no shit. "When Baker came in, obviously we didn’t have a game plan for him." Coach Todd Bowles insisted on Wednesday that Adams "misspoke." Did he stutter? No one believes that.
  • Rob Gronkowski's brother (little or big Gronk, idk) said Gronk is "super frustrated" with the New England Patriots. MUSIC TO MY EARS. Personally, I love when the Patriots lose ONE game and it's like the world is ending. Even though we all know they'll skip hand in hand to the playoffs like usual, let us enjoy this.
  • Los Angeles Chargers DE Joey Bosa expects to be out until at least Week Nine with a foot injury. That's like November. Not great!

what I'm reading today:

  • Dave Grohl's pre-show drinking routine is pretty amazing (Maxim)
  • Nike nearly dropped Colin Kaepernick before embracing him (NY Times)

last word:

Tom Brady tearing his ACL lead to a rule eliminating low hits to the QB.

Aaron Rodgers collarbone snapping lead to a confounding body weight rule.

If Drew Brees cracks his ankle while being tackled on a spin move, NFL gonna outlaw tackling whirling QBs.
