NFL will monitor artificial crowd noise levels

This NFL will look different than most; we all know that. One thing the NFL is doing is taking a lesson from the Atlanta Falcons and pumping in fake crowd noise since most teams are not allowing fans in the stands. The NFL will be monitoring these crowd noise levels to make sure teams are following guidelines.

The NFL told teams it will monitor their use of artificial crowd noise during games to ensure compliance with the guidelines. The league will take decibel readings during games. A team must submit its video board feed and stadium PA to the league the Wednesday after a home game.

Noise levels are allowed to be capped at 70 decibels, with music at 75 decibels.

If teams violate the guidelines, it is assumed they could face punishment. How embarrassing would that be? Imagine getting fined for your fake crowd being too loud.
