Seahawks have interest in Clay Matthews and Everson Griffen

While reports were swirling not too long ago that the Seattle Seahawks had some interest in free agent Jadeveon Clowney, it seems they have turned their attention to two other free agents -- Clay Matthews and Everson Griffen​.

While the Seahawks appear to have moved on from Jadeveon Clowney, who wants more than they're willing to pay, the team has interest in two veteran free agent pass rushers: LB Clay Matthews and DE Everson Griffen. A deal could happen soon.

While still no one really knows what the heck is up with Clowney, this makes the most sense for Seattle. I'd personally like to see Matthews there -- he can still continue to play at a high level when healthy. Seattle is clearly looking to bolster its defense -- they recently traded for safety Jamal Adams, and Matthews can do a good job without breaking the bank.

Matthews most recently played for the Los Angeles Rams​, before becoming a free agent this spring.
