Pittsburgh doesn't commit to bringing back Big ben
I've gotta tell ya; I've been waiting for this for a long time. It's sweet.
Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said that he is not committing to Ben Roethlisberger at the quarterback position going into the 2021 season.
Roethlisberger is due over $40 million this season, and if your joints are held together by toothpicks like his are, that's not worth it. He has said he is willing to restructure his deal, which will have to be done, or else he'll risk getting cut. Ain't no one gonna trade for that. Roethlisberger is at the stage of his career where you can still win with him under two conditions: 1) he stays healthy -- very big IF; and 2) if his defense plays top-notch and also stays healthy. No. 2 is what we saw last season when they were undefeated before being hit by injuries and general fatigue and then started to fall off. Just how lucky can they get again? speaking of the steelers' defense
There has been tons of talk about JJ Watt to Pittsburgh, based purely on the fact that his brothers both play there. Colbert was also (of course) asked about the potential add of Watt to join their already strong defense.
There's no way, right? This team doesn't even know if they'll be able to retain one of their own in Bud Dupree, so there's no way they're adding someone else. Plus, they don't have the cash. which brings us to jj watt
Watt is in his first (and probably, only) round of free agency, and here's what he has to say about it.
He's doing this to tease us. My top spot for him continues to be the Buffalo Bills, followed by the Cleveland Browns and the Green Bay Packers. where are the broncos on deshaun watson?
I've been a long-time subscriber to the notion that I think the Denver Broncos dubbed Drew Lock "the guy" way before they should have. It seems I may have been onto something there. Reports are flying that Denver will absolutely be in on QB Deshaun Watson, who will be their starter over Lock, should they decide to trade him.
Not sure I love the wording of this, but I do love the potential drama.
