Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow missed most of training camp with a calf injury and reportedly re-injured the same calf during the fourth quarter of their loss to the Baltimore Ravens Sunday. Burrow had already shown extreme signs of rust after not playing in camp or in the preseason - now he has a lingering injury to deal with.
Head coach Zac Taylor was non-committal on the status of Burrow - who is set to play the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night in Week Three.
Taylor said Burrow is dealing with soreness, but did not appear to have a limp or be walking in a walking boot. Which is a good sign, yes? Burrow is as tough as they come, but the obvious aspect with this situation would be re-injury (or worsening of said injury). If they have to sacrifice one game in order for Burrow to be healthy the remainder of the season, they should do it.
Their backup QB is Jake Browning. Just throwing that out there. You'll probably have to Google him.
