Its not easy to play in Seattle and all eyes were on San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy. Purdy finished the first quarter 9-for-9 as the Niners lead the Seahawks 7-0.

The cherry on top was this 28-yard touchdown to tight end George Kittle.

The 49ers went on to beat Seattle, 21-13, clinching the division title.

Purdy was efficient in his first road start, completing 17-of 26 passes for 217 yards and two touchdowns.

more Qb news:

  • The Cincinnati Bengals are playing Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this weekend, so people will be comparing the two quarterbacks. Joe Burrow doesn't have time for that, though. "I don't pay attention to it. He's Tom, and I'm Joe. I really just think that I play the game my own way."
  • Desmond Ridder is the new starting quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, and he's giving all the credit to the team for preparing him, even though he's a rookie. "I'm prepared for this. This is what they've been preparing me for. They didn't want to baby me. It means going about the game plan how a 12-year vet, an eight-year vet, whatever it may be, would."
  • Despite having a talented roster, the Las Vegas Raiders are about to miss the playoffs again. And on top of that, it's looking like quarterback Derek Carr may be on the move this offseason. Carr says he doesn't think about his future during the season (yeah, right). "I've always tried my best to - as I've gotten older in my career - just eliminate all of those things."
  • The Tennessee Titans have lost three straight and fired their general manager. But they aren't dead yet. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill acknowledged that they have to turn things around fast. "Everything we want is still right in front of us. You want to get hot at the right time. This is the end of the year. This is the point where we want to start getting hot as the season finishes."
  • Lamar Jackson did not practice on Thursday. Tyler Huntley practiced in full.
    • John Harbaugh said Huntley cleared concussion protocol on Thursday, but did not name him the starter for Saturday's game. (Hint: He'll likely be the starter.)
    • Jackson was officially ruled out for Saturday's game. Huntley has no injury designation.
    • Cleveland Browns defender Myles Garrett had some high praise for Huntley.

Ravens QB Tyler Huntley has cleared the concussion protocol but coach John Harbaugh declines to name a starting QB for Saturday’s game at the Browns

Myles Garrett on Tyler Huntley: "God damn, he's fast. It felt like you were trying to chase down a chicken doused in honey. This guy is athletically one of the top guys in the league."

  • Trevor Lawrence's emergence is upon us, and he says he's focused on playing this way moving forward and, of course, proving the haters wrong. "Honestly, I have a little bit more of a chip on my shoulder now just because of the last year and a half. I don't really forget what's been said and what people have written. Now, you see people change their mind after a couple weeks."
    • Lawrence returned to practice on Thursday as a limited participant.
  • Drew Brees accepted a temporary coaching position at Purdue.
  • Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson wants to see Mason Rudolph start at QB if Kenny Pickett can't play. A bold denouncement of Mitch Trubisky? "Yeah, I wanna see him play. I know he's ready to play."
    • Pickett was limited in Thursday's practice.
  • Russell Wilson returned to practice for the Denver Broncos on a limited basis.

Russell Wilson will be limited in practice today. Dre’Mont Jones seeing a hip specialist. Not practicing today. #9sports

  • Justin Fields returned to practice on Thursday after missing Wednesday's practice with an illness.
  • Mike White was limited in practice on Thursday with a ribs injury. Joe Flacco practiced at full strength, thanks for asking.
    • White says he has "no doubt" he will play on Sunday.
