This weekend, USC quarterback Caleb Wiliams won college football's biggest prize, the Heisman Trophy. While he can't enter the NFL Draft until 2024, this is great to have on your resume.

And he won it in a landslide.

more qb news:

  • The Seattle Seahawks are taking on the Carolina Panthers this weekend, and it's a must-win should the Seahawks want to stay active in the playoff race. Offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo spoke about Seahawks QB Geno Smith's Cinderella-story comeback this year in the NFL. "You're seeing that with Geno, and that's just a part of playing the game. These guys go through a lot as they come up through the ranks, and they get a chance to play in this league. Sometimes they just need to get in the right situation, and certainly, that's where Geno is right now."
  • The last time Mike White played the Buffalo Bills didn't go so well. And that's putting it nicely. White says he's not thinking about that, though. "You can't go in there thinking, 'I want revenge for what happened last year.' What happened last year is over with. It's a different scenario, different team."
  • Even though he's unlikely to return this season with a broken foot, the San Francisco 49ers won't put Jimmy Garoppolo on injured reserve, according to GM John Lynch. "I think we're just going to carry him on our roster, and we're going to kind of see how the rehab process goes. There's a natural healing process that has to take place."
  • Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett was a teammate of Baker Mayfield's for four seasons, and said he was not at all surprised by his big comeback win on Thursday night with just hours of preparation. "I mean, it was impressive. And going back to watch it, he was putting some dimes out there for guys to go get early on in the game and it was just that time until it clicked. So I have nothing against the guy now. I'm hoping for his success wherever he's at."
  • Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said QB Matthew Stafford will not need an offseason neck procedure at this time.
  • The Baltimore Ravens elevated QB Anthony Brown for Sunday's game.
  • Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott were fined $13, 261 for their Salvation Army kettle celebration in Week 14.

QB INJURY UPDATES:

  • Lamar Jackson is listed as doubtful with a knee injury.
  • The Jacksonville Jaguars list Trevor Lawrence as questionable with a toe injury.
  • Tua Tagovailoa is off the Miami Dolphins' injury report.
