The Arizona Cardinals will stick quarterback Kyler Murray on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list to begin the season. Murray has been rehabbing an ACL tear from Week 14 in 2022, so this was bound to happen. This move means that Murray will miss the first four games of the season, at a minimum. Onto the good stuff.
The Cardinals released veteran QB Colt McCoy, meaning that he clearly won't be the backup when Murray is out. The team traded for QB Joshua Dobbs last week and have rookie Clayton Tune also on the roster, making the two of them prime candidates for the job. There's still more. Head coach Jonathan Gannon says he won't name a starter ahead of Week 1. We're all on the edges of our seats.
Citing "competitive advantage" here is insane. It might be the only advantage they have.
