Derrick Henry's 76-yard run
I couldn't really think of a clever title, but do I really need one? Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry did what he does best to get the team going after three straight drives of nothing. Henry ran for 76 yards, putting the Titans up on the Buffalo Bills, 7-6.
taylor lewan gives thumbs up after being carted off during scary hit
Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan was carted off before halftime after hitting his head on the back of another player. Lewan remained down and not moving, making everyone hold their breath. The cart came out, and Lewan gave a thumbs up as he was being taken back to the locker room. He is being evaluated for a concussion.
Derrick Henry's second td of the night gives titans the lead
Henry is basically carrying the Titans by himself as his teammates are dropping like flies. Henry ran the ball in for a three-yard touchdown in the third quarter to give the Titans a 24-23 over Buffalo.

The Titans' defense was able to stop Allen on a fourth down QB sneak from the three-yard line, sealing the 34-31 win over the Bills.

bears
Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy said all three quarterbacks will have the chance to start Week Four. So, where does that leave them? No final decisions have been made yet, but Andy Dalton and Justin Fields practiced on Wednesday. Nagy is still insisting that Dalton is the starter if he's healthy. I'm waiting on the edge of my seat.
patriots
One of the best things about having a rookie quarterback is that you have to, at some point, basically expect some growing pains. That's what happened with New England Patriots rookie quarterback Mac Jones last Sunday. Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels mentioned that it's expected, but it also can't become the norm. "You may have a bad quarter, may have a bad day, you may have a bad week, but it doesn't mean you can let that snowball into a bad season. Just taking as much as you can from each opportunity to learn. The adversities are sometimes our best teachers."
jaguars
Speaking of rookie QBs, Trevor Lawrence is also dealing with something similar. The Jacksonville Jaguars haven't won a game this season, but Lawrence says he can feel himself growing and learning in his first season in the NFL. "I feel like every week I've gotten better. I definitely feel the progress. I feel like I'm seeing it really well. I feel good about where I am."
steelers
While we're talking about teams that haven't been playing well this season, may I present to you the Pittsburgh Steelers. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger seems to be one of the more significant problems, showing his age and inability to move around as much as he would probably like. Roethlisberger is (of course) saying that nothing is on any one person or position. "I think there's not this one big glaring thing. It's just a little thing here, a little thing there, which I think is why we can be encouraged as an offense that it's not that far off."
titans
Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill might be down two receivers this week, as both Julio Jones and AJ Brown are dealing with injuries. However, Tannehill somehow isn't worried (I am). "Something we believe in this organization is 'next man up' mentality. Not sure who is going to end up trotting out there on Sunday, but I'm confident in whoever it is."
dolphins
I love a good revenge game. But apparently, Jacoby Brissett doesn't. With Tua Tagovailoa still out due to a rib issue, Brissett will be starting another week for the Miami Dolphins. And he gets to play his old team, the Indianapolis Colts. Brissett spent four seasons with the team. "I'm not in here for like a revenge game or anything like that. I want to go to win."

washington
With starter Ryan Fitzpatrick getting injured in the first week of the season, the Washington Football Team is handing the reins over to Taylor Heinicke, who some thought should have gotten a shot at the starting job, to begin with. (Don't yell at me, those people exist.) Heinicke did play quite well during last season's Wild Card loss, but not well enough to stop the team from signing Fitzpatrick. That train of thought doesn't stop Heinicke's thought process going into Week Two, however. "Something I've been dreaming about my entire life, being a starting quarterback in the NFL, and here we are. I really try and take it one day at a time, one meeting at a time, one play at a time. I feel like if I just live in the moment, everything else will take care of itself."
steelers
Good news for Pittsburgh Steelers fans: Ben Roethlisberger isn't hurt yet. After a year removed from elbow surgery, Roethlisberger was asked about any general soreness after Week One, and he said he was feeling pretty good. Which is kind of a shocker, not gonna lie.
patriots
New England Patriots rookie quarterback Mac Jones may have lost his first game, but he's still getting a ton of praise from the team, including offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. McDaniels praised Jones' confidence and competitiveness, which is still there despite a loss. "I think he's a very competitive guy. He wants to win at everything that he's doing. He wants to perform his best every single day at every single rep."
titans
The Tennessee Titans didn't exactly start the season off the way they wanted to in Week One. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill credited the loss with the lack of response to the Arizona Cardinals. (Did Derrick Henry even play?) However, Tennessee will have to pick it up soon because they have the Seahawks this week.
browns
The Cleveland Browns were able to keep up with the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday but lost in the end. Quarterback Baker Mayfield said (in a nutshell) that the team needs to pick themselves up and use this loss while preparing for Week Two and beyond. "We're going to be really good if we just do our jobs and continue to be efficient and move the chains and help out our defense by staying on the field. But this one needs to sting. You need to remember that, that all the little things matter, and that's how you need to approach this week of practice."
chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes only seemed to target a few receivers in Week One's game, which led people to wonder (for real) if he has something against his other receivers. This is a total Week One reaction if I've seen one. Mahomes says that's not the case. "I have full confidence in everybody who's on that football field. I mean, we have guys that can make plays everywhere. This last week, Trav and Tyreek made the plays. But I'm sure that throughout the entire season — and what we've seen in our past — is that we have guys like Mecole Hardman, Demarcus Robinson, and Byron Pringle who can make the big play happen at any moment. I have full confidence in that."

buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady managed not to get COVID during last season, but he confirmed over the weekend that he contracted the virus in February, right after the Super Bowl parade. Funny how that happens while galavanting around tons of people without a mask on during peak pandemic! When asked how he thinks the league will handle the continuing COVID-19 pandemic with the Delta variant in the mix, Brady was pretty pessimistic. "I think it's going to be challenging this year. I actually think it's going to play more of a factor this year than last year just because of the way we're doing things this year and what the stadium is going to look like and what the travel is going to look like and the people in the buidling and the fans..."
--
Straight from the mouth of the player is protected more than anyone else! Yep, Bradythinks many penalties called for defensive players are actually due to the mistakes of offensive players. Or does he? "For example, when I used to play against Ray Lewis, I wouldn't throw the ball to the middle of the field because he would hit them and knock them out of the game. And now, every hard hit is a penalty on the defense. So I feel like they penalize defensive players for offensive mistakes." He's not wrong, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around Brady admitting he isn't perfect?
patriots
This week, the talk of the town was when the New England Patriots released veteran quarterback Cam Newton and decided to go with the rookie Mac Jones. This reasonably raised questions of if Jones was genuinely ready to take over the team's reins, be a leader, and be able to be successful within the offense. Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne says there's nothing to worry about on that front. "For any starter, I think you feel that pressure, but he was built for it since Alabama. I think he's more ready than anyone really knows."
titans
The Tennessee Titans have activated quarterback Ryan Tannehill off the COVID-19 reserve list just in time for opening week. Tannehill has previously said he only got vaccinated because the NFL basically forced him to do so. Now he benefits from the relaxed regulations for vaccinated players.
