The Carolina Panthers are going to look mighty different this season, but they didn't get rid of the 'heartbeat' (not to be confused with 'heartthrob') of the team, running back Christian McCaffrey.
CMC is, without a doubt, the most versatile back in the NFL, taking on his job along with a little wide receiver and tight end thrown in there as well. But, the question is, can he continue to basically put his team on his back like he has done in the past? A running back's career is considered to have the 'shortest shelf-life' of all positions (this did not mean to be a punny short-guy joke, but here we are), and logic tells us as much. My answer? Yes. Yes, he can. With a few new weapons, and a new look at quarterback, McCaffrey is confident that however new the offense is, the team still won't miss a step.
McCaffrey signed a long-term extension with the Panthers in April, making sure he'll be here (with or without those weapons) for a long time to come.
