The Indianapolis Colts announced rookie QB Anthony Richardson will officially be the starting quarterback in Week One.
Richardson, who was drafted by the Colts at No. 4 in this past year's draft, has seen the first-team offense for most of training camp despite various reports that he may need to take the "sit and learn" approach his first year in the league. On a team that has started a different QB every season for what seems like forever, the plan is that Richardson is the starter for many years to come.
Backup quarterback Gardner Minshew thinks Richardson is fully equipped for the job, and isn't disappointed that he won't be the team's starter come September. Minshew knew when he signed with Indianapolis this offseason that there was a good chance the rookie could win the job.
