The NFL and NFLPA agreed to extend daily COVID-19 testing past the original two week period. Daily testing will now continue until (at least) September 5.
It wouldn't be a bad idea to continue to do this, especially since there is no 'official bubble' situation. With more practicing comes more contact, which means potential cases can go up. It doesn't make a lot of sense to stop testing right before the season begins and once teams begin traveling. It's expensive, and it's a hassle no doubt, but it's the safest thing the league can do right now without enforcing a bubble. I wouldn't be shocked to see this extended once again.
