While it was expected he'd return in Week 5, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott doesn't seem ready to see the field yet. Owner Jerry Jones spoke on Tuesday and stated that Prescott can't yet grip the football "well enough to play."

Is Cowboys QB Dak Prescott currently able to grip the ball with surgically repaired thumb?

Prescott injured his thumb in Week One and has since had surgery. While he was eyeing a Week Five return, backup quarterback Cooper Rush has been holding down the fort quite well at the position and, therefore, shouldn't Rush it. Haha get it?

So, when will we see Dak Bak? (I need to stop with these puns.) I think Prescott will return when he is:
  1. Wholly recovered and/or healthy.
  2. Whenever Rush has a god-awful game and things start to go downhill quickly.
  3. Whichever of those comes first.

  • While this was technically announced on Monday, the Pittsburgh Steelers officially announced rookie Kenny Pickett as the team's starting quarterback in Week Five. Former starter Mitchell Trubisky stunk up the joint for just four weeks before head coach Mike Tomlin announced the move to throw the keys to the rook. Here's hoping this is the spark they need.

  • The Indianapolis Colts have the privilege of playing on Thursday Night Football this week and running back Jonathan Taylor was absent from practice on Tuesday while he deals with an ankle injury. Taylor plans to play, but based on the severity of the injury; he may not be able to go. That's terrible news for the team that already sucks.

  • Speaking of Thursday Night Football, Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson was limited for the second-straight day with a shoulder injury. However, he will likely play, and they're just taking precautions for the short week. A ringing endorsement for TNF, always!
