Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson remains as a DNP as of Wednesday after working through a shoulder injury. Watson missed Week 4's matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, rested during the team's Week 5 bye, and has yet to practice as the team prepares for Week 6 against the San Francisco 49ers.

It's early in the practice week, so Watson still has a chance to practice before gametime. In the event that he cannot go, backup PJ Walker will start in his place.

more qb news:

  • Indianapolis Colts rookie QB Anthony Richardson has officially been placed on injured reserve. Richardson suffered an AC joint injury in his throwing shoulder and will be out at least four games, but it could be up to two months. Backup QB Gardner Minshew will take over - and the Colts have already shown they can win with Minshew. He gets probably one of the best opportunities to show he's still a starting-caliber NFL QB.

Bill Belichick confirmed Mac Jones will start Sunday vs. the Raiders. “Yeah, we’re not making any changes,” he said.

  • New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick confirmed what we all suspected - Mac Jones will start at quarterback in Week 6. Jones has been one of the worst quarterbacks throughout five weeks and he has been benched twice - but that's apparently not enough to make any changes at this time.
  • New York Giants QB Daniel Jones was injured during Week 5's game and did not practice on Wednesday while he works through a neck injury. Head coach Brian Daboll said earlier this week he is optimistic about Jones playing in Week 6, but we will have to wait and see if and how Jones practices as the week goes on.

Starting QB Daniel Jones “will not practice,” per Brian Daboll. He’s day to day with a neck injury that Daboll says is sore.

LT Andrew Thomas (hamstring) also will not practice. #giants

  • The Minnesota Vikings placed veteran quarterback Nick Mullens on injured reserve with a back injury. Jaren Hall will be starter Kirk Cousins' backup going forward.
  • New Orleans Saints QB Derek Carr was upgraded to a full participant in practice on Wednesday. Carr has been dealing with a shoulder injury for about two weeks; a full designation indicates he is close to full strength.
