Baltimore Ravens rookie kicker Karre Vedvik was welcomed to Baltimore in not the best way last week. After being found robbed and assaulted in a part of town that you wouldn't want to be in at any time of the day, many who knew the area were questioning his intentions - was he in the wrong place at the wrong time? Was he lured there or was he up to no good?
I don't know him personally, but from what I've seen in interviews and from a conversation with a mutual friend, it's hard for me to believe that he was there with bad intentions. On Tuesday the Baltimore police report shed some details on the situation.
So it seems to me (and keep in mind this is purely speculative) that he met up with some ladies, hoping to have a good time and they ended up not being the type of ladies that you would actually want to hang out with. They probably found out (or he told them) that he was an NFL player and they used that to assume he had $$$$$$, hence the robbery. Sadly he probably learned the hard way to not trust a singleeeeee person. The good news is that he's mostly alright, as it seems it could have been way worse.
Expected to be traded to another team, coach John Harbaugh said on Tuesday that, "It was disappointing for him because I think it cost him a chance to kick in this league." Vedvik could have definitely become this year's Will Lutz, who also spent a summer with the Ravens before being picked up by another team for a starting job. buzz-worthy:
