The first of the quarterback extensions has dropped. The Philadelphia Eagles signed QB Jalen Hurts to a five-year, $255 million extension to kick off the week.
The Eagles were adamant that getting an extension done for Hurts was a priority this offseason. It comes at the perfect time, as Hurts is heading into his final year of his rookie contract.
The extension includes $179.304 million in guarantees, a no-trade clause, and up to $15 million in additional incentives.
On the heels of a Super Bowl appearance and an MVP-caliber season, it'll be interesting to see how Hurts rebounds in 2023. With a strong core on the roster, the Eagles are set up for success with Hurts.
I talk more about Hurts' deal and what it means for the other QBs in line for an extension in Monday's Patreon episode.
