Now, I've seen some dumb upon dumb calls in my days of watching NFL football. But the one called on Green Bay Packers LB Clay Matthews this Sunday was up there on my list of total idiocy.
Matthews told ESPN, "“I have so many emotions running through as far as what a terrible call it was. At the same time, I don’t know what else to do. I don’t know. You let me know. You tell me. Did I put pressure on him? I thought I hit him within his waist to chest, I got my head across, put my hands down. To call it at that point in the game is unbelievable." He went on to say how penalties are "out of control" in the NFL and I can't spot the lie.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy sided with his player saying, "He did what he was coached to do. He tries to brace, the weight distribution. . . . They saw it differently.” Even his opponent Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins called it a "generous call." He would say that. Bottom line: We can all agree this shit sucks. buzz-worthy:
