George Kittle becomes the highest paid tight end in football

It's been quite an eventful week for San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle. Earlier in the week (and it's only Thursday), he shot down a report that he had agreed to a new contract, and now here we are, mere days later, with the details of his monster contract. Funny how that works.

Anyways, the team and Kittle have agree to a five-year, $75 million extension, with an $18 million signing bonus. Not bad at all.

This is a lot of money. It surpasses the deal Austin Hooper got. But this is well deserved. Kittle has the ability to carry the offense -- you can't find someone who is more valuable on that offense.

George Kittle has more receiving yards than any TE in NFL history through three seasons (2,945), the most catches by a TE through three seasons (219), the most receiving yards in a single season by a TE ever (1,377) and is the best blocking TE in football. Absolute baller.
