Good deeds and trash talk

more of this type of news, please.

These are my favorite kinds of stories. I feel like news in the NFL is centered around what the players are doing wrong, who's getting fined, who's hurt, etc., and we don't hear nearly enough about all of the good deeds players are doing all the time.

Chicago Bears linebacker Khalil Mack is a perfect example. The star defensive player paid off $80K in layaway accounts at the Walmart in his hometown of Fort Pierce Florida, making about 300 customers' holiday season.

The Walmart in Fort Pierce, Fla., revealed Bears edge rusher Khalil Mack paid off all active holiday layaway accounts at the chain retailer — some 300-350 accounts totaling $80,000.https://t.co/C5pDgRRx8P

You know what's even better? Mack didn't do this so people would talk about it -- Walmart was the one to report this. He did this out of the goodness of his heart for the holidays. Would love a Hallmark movie to be made out of this.

phillip rivers at it again.

Los Angeles (San Diego) Chargers quarterback Phillip Rivers makes me cringe. Please just look and listen.

I mean I guess I admire his enthusiasm?

so we're pretty sure the patriots cheated again.

According to The Athletic, the infamous video that the Patriots staff member took during the Browns-Bengals game on Sunday, focused right on the Bengals' sideline, right where Cincy's coaching staff was signaling plays, for eight whole minutes.

The tape doesn't lie.

And in the case of the this latest Patriots scandal with the #Bengals game, it won't.

On the eight minutes of data gathered on Sunday, the clear shooting of the sideline for an extended period of time and firestorm it set off.https://t.co/QiRQQrW1NO

Wow that's crazy what a coincidence. The only ones buying their "explanation" are Patriots fans. Some of them came after me today claiming all teams do it, like the NFL shouldn't be alarmed whenever the words "Patriots" and "video taping" are associated with each other.

my picks for wednesday:

  • Blue light blocking glasses - If you're on your computer/phone almost all day like I am, these are perfect for headaches, or if your eyes get dry like mine. They work, and they're super cheap. ($11.79)
  • Off-the-shoulder sweater - This is a perfect fall-to-winter sweater. It's a little sheer, so I like to pair mine with a cute bralette. ($16.99)
  • Fairy light curtain - I can't really speak on this yet, but I just ordered it because it looks amazing. And yeah, it's staying up all year long. ($17.99)
