philip rivers is retiring
As expected, former SAN DIEGO Chargers (I've been waiting to type that un-accidentally) and Indianapolis Colts quarterback Philip Rivers has decided to retire from the NFL after 17 seasons.
Rivers had a solid career stat-wise, but the thing that will stand out about him was that he never had a Super Bowl under his belt. That's okay though. He now gets to go home to a house full of kids. I mean, FULL full. lions hire their next head coach
The Detroit Lions agreed to a deal with their latest head coach Dan Campbell on Tuesday. The deal is for six years.
Campbell spent the past five seasons with the New Orleans Saints as their tight ends coach. He also has some experience as a head coach, as he was named the interim head coach in 2015 for the Miami Dolphins. The biggest challenge for Campbell will not only be to fit into his role nicely, but to completely undo all of the damage that ex-HC Matt Patricia did over the past few years. Nothing improved, their was either a running-in-place situation or a setback. He will also have a say in the fate of quarterback Matthew Stafford, who you will definitely be hearing some trade rumors about this offseason.
