Goodbye Sean Payton

  • As was announced on Tuesday, New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton decided to step away from the team. The phrase "stepping away" was an interesting one; he didn't use the words "quitting" or "retiring." During his press conference to discuss his decision, Payton said that while his plans for the 2022 NFL season were not to return to coaching, he didn't close the door on that completely. There are also rumors that he could join the football world on the broadcasting side. So, we shall see.

Sources: Sean Payton has informed the #Saints that he’s stepping away.

  • We all know it will be quite the offseason for the Indianapolis Colts. After betting the farm on quarterback Carson Wentz and then closely watching him shit the bed, neither the Colts' head coach nor the GM has been able to commit to Wentz being the guy next season.

Now, Colts owner Jim Irsay appears not to be sold on Wentz either. Irsay has also sprinkled shade here and there throughout the season on his thoughts on players not getting the COVID-19 vaccine (Wentz isn't vaccinated and missed time on the COVID reserve list). I'm not saying Wentz is DONE done in Indy, but it seems he doesn't have everyone's utmost support currently.

You can see, clear as day,in The Final 8 NFL Team Playoffs…you need a QB and Offense, who can score 30 or more in Regulation…and a Defense that can hold an opponent under 30!□

  • In one of the best divisional games I've seen in my entire life, the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills in overtime on Sunday night. Chills were all around, but this clip from NFL Films featuring Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce really sends that home. Watch this guy.

  • Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is one player who is also considering what his future holds. He could retire (which is where I'm leaning, personally), stick around with the Packers, or land with another team. Rodgers went on his usual spot on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday and said pretty much everything is on the table. It should be an interesting one in Rodgers' La La Land.
