mason crosby signs long-term deal with packers.
It's not the offseason until we have some kicker news on a Saturday afternoon. Mason Crosby signed a new three-year deal with the Green Bay Packers on Saturday. Here are the deets:
Crosby went through a rough patch a while back, but unlike most NFL positions, the kicker's job is mostly mental. Once he got his confidence back, it's been pretty much smooth-sailing. As I've always said -- you don't realize how important a kicker is, until you don't have one. Looks like the Packers have that under control for a while. josh Doctson signs with jets.
The New York Jets signed wide receiver Josh Doctson on Saturday.
Not a sexy signing, or a major one by any means. While Doctson hasn't lived up to his first-round status/hype, he could still have a comeback season. Doctson spent his first three seasons with the Washington Redskins before signing with the Minnesota Vikings in 2019. He sat on injured reserve for a while before being waived. So, not a promising pick by any means, but Sam Darnold could definitely use some help in that area. lions are holding onto danny AMENDOla.
After spending last season there, the Detroit Lions are re-signing wide receiver Danny Amendola, at least for another season.
I've raved about Matthew Stafford having a fantastic season in 2019 before he got injured, and Amendola was very quietly a part of that. It makes sense for both the team and the player to come back and give it another go. As there always is, story lines were created to bring talk about Amendola going to whatever team Tom Brady ends up at, so they can reunite and hold hands into the sunset of BroTown, but unless Brady ends up in Detroit (nope), that won't be happening.
