The Detroit Lions signed free agent quarterback Teddy Bridgewater on Monday.
Bridgewater will be the backup for starter Jared Goff. The team also has QB Nate Sudfeld and rookie QB Hendon Hooker on the roster, though he's not expected to play in 2023 due to recovering from a torn ACL. The Lions were interested in Bridgewater for a backup role since the spring, even offering him a contract in April. Bridgewater decided to hold out for a starting role, and when that did not surface, Bridgewater went back to Detroit. Bridgewater is heading into his tenth season as an NFL player. His latest stint was with the Miami Dolphins, where he backed up Tua Tagovailoa. more qb news:
