amari cooper wants to be a "cowboy for life."

With free agency szn approaching, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper reiterated what he has said numerous times before: that he wants to be a Dallas Cowboy forevermore. You don't hear that one very often.

It's no secret Amari Cooper wants to remain with the #Cowboys -- seeing as he's said it a dozen times -- but as the team hurries to get his deal done, he'd like Dez Bryant to join him in 2020:

'It'd be great. ...I want to play with him." »

Cooper also had to throw in there that he'd love to play with Dez Bryant, which makes this just the most Dallas Cowboys story of all time.

QUINnen williams arrested at the airport

I guess it's better than catching Coronavirus at the airport, but New York Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams was arrested at LaGuardia Airport on gun charges.

Oh boy.

At approximately 9:15pm, #Jets DE Quinnen Williams was trying to board his flight at LaGuardia Airport when he was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Weapon (his permit is in Alabama). He’s currently being processed by PAPD, the PAPD tells @TheAthleticNYC

I'm not even going to begin to pretend that I am expert on laws or anything like that, but I think this is rounding out to be a huge misunderstanding. The gun wasn't loaded, he had a permit to carry in another state, etc. etc.

I will say this: This is such a huge turnaround from the time he sneezed, blessed himself, and then thanked himself.

marquise goodwin could be traded

The San Francisco 49ers are thinking about trading wide receiver Marquise Goodwin.

One name that has been discussed in trade talks: #49ers speedy WR Marquise Goodwin. The deep threat is due roughly $10M over two years, so his contract can be traded. Meanwhile, SF’s young core of WRs is emerging.

— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 6, 2020

This is good for both sides: The 49ers' wide receivers are good enough to the point where a dude who finished on injured reserve last season (and the rest of the team still did fine), Goodwin will get lost down in the deep end of the depth chart, when he could be making plays on the field for another team. And whoever that other team is, could get a solid receiver with good speed and could be a contributor. Win/win.

Chargers lock up austin ekeler

The Los Angeles Chargers signed running back Austin Ekeler to a four-year extension with $15 million guaranteed. Not bad for a running back. Ekeler had a break-out season last year, while taking the place of star running back Melvin Gordon, who sat out a large chunk of the season.

Chargers and restricted free-agent RB Austin Ekeler reached agreement on a four-year, $24.5 million deal that includes $15 million guaranteed, sources tell ESPN.@camRONweiss of @DynamicSportGrp and @Chargers’ EVP Ed McGuire have been negotiating the deal since early January.

Ya know what this means? That Gordon probably won't be back.

las vegas wants marcus mariota

I guess I will have to get used to calling them the Las Vegas Raiders. It doesn't quite roll off the tongue like Oakland Raiders does, but I'm sure there will be lots of "What happens in Vegas" jokes, right?

Anywho, that team, wherever they may be, is interested in soon-to-be-ex Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota.

On NFL NOW, @MikeGarafolo says the Raiders are interested in Mariota. Reports they are more likely to go after a veteran 1B backup like Mariota than Brady.

All I can say about this is -- the cards are currently falling to where Tom Brady is going back to the New England Patriots like I've told you incessantly for the past three months.

speaking of tom brady wanting people to talk about him

I'll just leave this here.

saints give a first-round tender to taysom hill

This makes me think about chicken tenders. But the New Orleans Saints are planning to place a first-round tender on quarterback Taysom Hill, meaning New Orleans can match any offer from another team, or get a first-round pick in return. This is the equivalent of being picked first in elementary school gym class. You are the fucking MAN, right now.

This was the correct decision all along: The team had this dude in place to be Drew Brees' successor whether or not he retired.
