Matt LaFleur says he sees Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay for "a long time"

Green Bay Packers head coach ​Matt LaFleur met with the media ahead of training camp this weekend. All was hunky-dory until he was asked about that night -- the night his team drafted a quarterback, Jordan Love, presumably to take the place of one of the most surgical quarterbacks the game has ever seen, Aaron Rodgers.

LaFleur on Rodgers: “Right now, most importantly, Aaron’s our quarterback and I see him here for a really long time. However long that is, I don’t think anybody knows. Nothing’s guaranteed in this league. But I feel so lucky to be able to work with him on a daily basis.” pic.twitter.com/JTsp4SdmZM

I know they're like, all but forced to say this. You don't wanna say, "yeah we plan on getting rid of Aaron Rodgers at some point, some point soon preferably." But, the draft pick says all it needs to say.

You can have this idea that you want Rodgers to play the Brett Favre in this situation, and mentor Love everyday for a few years. That's totally fine if that happens, as that would be the ideal situation. But, realistically, that doesn't always happen. I can think of MORE than a few times when a young QB was brought in to 'sit' behind the veteran, and ending up starting before the season was over, and then taking the job. Not gonna name any names, though.
