Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford has had a rough few weeks. Last week, the Lions put him on the COVID reserve list after coming in contact with someone who tested positive; this week, he injured his thumb during Sunday's game against the Washington Football Team. Typically, that's a red flag for a quarterback - it can affect their grip and release on the ball. But X-rays on Stafford's thumb were negative, and he isn't expected to miss any time. Good news.
The expectation is that Stafford will undergo more tests on Monday and that he will be limited in practice this week. Barring a setback, Stafford should be good to go for next week's game against the Carolina Panthers.
