• Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley has been suspended by the NFL indefinitely and at least through the 2022 season because he was caught gambling on an app. According to the NFL, Ridley gambled on games while he was not with the team (if you remember, he left the team for a while to focus on his mental health). The league concluded that no "insider information" was used during this gambling stint, which is evident because he bet on the Falcons.

• According to Peter King, Kirk Herbstreit has landed the Thursday Night Football gig for Amazon. As a result, he'll be the primary NFL analyst on our televisions every Thursday night this season. Herbstreit is mainly known for his work with College GameDay, and he is expected to remain in that role as well this season. I'm sure people will complain about this in some capacity, but I've perfected the skill of tuning out announcers most of the time throughout the years.
  

Amazon is expected to finalize a deal with ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit to be the main analyst for Thursday Night Football, per @peter_king. Amazon had interest in Troy Aikman but he went to MNF. They land on Herbstreit, who will likely continue his ESPN/ABC duties as well.
