Amongst some players (coughcough LeSean McCoy) talking about Eric Bieniemy's lack of influence in the Kansas City Chiefs offense, quarterback Patrick Mahomes took to Twitter to defend his former offensive coordinator.

There should be no questions on how great of a man/coach Coach Bienemy is. His leadership has a direct impact on the player/person i am today! 10+ years learning under one of the greatest coaches of all time.. and i cannot wait for him to continue to prove doubters wrong! □□ https://t.co/hyCo3Bly9E

More Qb News:

  • Aaron Rodgers has concluded his darkness retreat. He now has a decision to make with the Green Bay Packers: Does he retire? Stay with the team? Or continue to play, but on another team? The next few days should be interesting on this front.
  • Kyler Murray won't start the 2023 season in September as he's recovering from an ACL injury. Still, Arizona Cardinals owner Michael Bidwell thinks Murray could return sooner rather than later. A typical ACL recovery is six to eight months, with a return date somewhere in the fall. But, of course, it's still too early to tell, as Murray tore the ACL in Week 14.

Bidwill on Kyler Murray’s return from ACL reconstruction: “I think (his return) is going to be earlier than this midseason, so hopefully, it's toward the beginning of the season, but I don't want to put any specific dates.” https://t.co/5SjovkH0qv

  • Lamar Jackson is agent-free as he's working out contract negotiations with the Baltimore Ravens. While he's expected to get the franchise tag any day now, Jackson is still receiving "guidance" from the NFLPA. What that "guidance" is, we don't know, as both sides remain far apart.

QB Lamar Jackson doesn't have a traditional agent representing him in negotiations with the Baltimore Ravens but he is getting guidance from the NFLPA. I'm told he is not negotiating alone.

  • While Bruce Arians didn't commit to QB Kyle Trask being the Tampa Bay Buccaneers starter in 2023, Arians had plenty of compliments for the guy likely to enter the offseason as the starter. Arians spoke about his size and arm on The Rich Eisen Show on Thursday.

"I think we're in good hands with Kyle Trask."@BruceArians told us where he thinks #GoBucs will turn in 2023 now that @TomBrady has retired for good:#NFL #NFLCombine #NFLFreeAgency #NFLDraft @ktrask9 pic.twitter.com/y5TRkTucuf
