The Kansas City Chiefs are Super Bowl Champions. Again. And Patrick Mahomes is Super Bowl MVP. Again.

After winning the league's Most Valuable Player Award on Thursday, Mahomes is the first player to win both in the same season since 1999. He's also the first regular-season passing yards leader to win the Super Bowl.

Mahomes completed 21 of 27 passes for 182 yards and three touchdowns. On a bum ankle. And added an additional 44 yards rushing.

more QB News:

  • The Green Bay Packers are anxiously awaiting quarterback Aaron Rodgers' decision on his future so they can adequately plan for the position. Rodgers is expected to decide before the start of free agency (March). If Rodgers does decide to return, the Packers will likely trade him elsewhere, as he's due $60 million in 2023.
    • The Packers are open to dealing Rodgers, as both sides appear ready to move on.
    • Rodgers is said to enter his "solitary darkness confinement" situation on Monday, with a decision on his future following.

#Packers President Mark Murphy on Rodgers.
“There hasn’t been a deadline. The sooner the decision is made, the better. Gutekunst has been in contact with him. Aaron has expressed that he doesn’t want to drag it.
You’re hoping maybe by the start of March?

The #Packers are respecting Aaron Rodgers’ need for time to decide his future, and if Rodgers comes to the team with a request to play elsewhere, sources say Green Bay is open to working with the four-time NFL MVP on a trade.

  • New Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton is determined to get the best out of quarterback Russell Wilson in 2023. One of his tactics will be to ensure Wilson isn't trying to do too much and to find a good balance in making plays.
    • Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders believes Payton is the one who can "fix" Wilson in 2023. "Me being in the huddle with the [New Orleans] Saints, I always felt like he was one or two plays ahead of the defensive coordinator. Where I've been in other huddles where the offensive coordinator is one or two plays behind the defensive coordinator. But it's hard to figure out Sean. And he has [Russell] Wilson as his quarterback and playmakers like Tim Patrick and Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy, so it's going to be fun."

Sean Payton on Russell Wilson: “Two greatest allies for a QB are defense and a run game. We need to take him off the high dive the whole time. He’ll need to be there 6-8 times per game though.” pic.twitter.com/1LBfqW4oPn

  • With Zach Wilson on the outs, the New York Jets are officially in the quarterback market this offseason. Owner Woody Johnson said they had yet to have much luck, but they're determined to find someone who clicks. And soon. "The issue is quarterback performance and also running the ball. We have to have a balanced offense."
  • The Chicago Bears have the number one pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and they already have their QB in Justin Fields. Or do they? Fields says he's not worried about it and is focusing on what he can control. The Bears would be wise to trade with a team looking for a QB, keep Fields, and build around him.

Has @JustnFields heard all the talk that the @ChicagoBears might use the first overall pick on a QB and trade him? Have the Bears told him anything yet on their draft plans at all? Check out his answers ⬇️ pic.twitter.com/rjemc0aXTR

  • Tom Brady officially filed a retirement letter on Friday.
  • Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa missed the season's final three games with a concussion and was recently cleared from the league's concussion protocol. Tagovailoa discussed the way the Dolphins handled the situation.

"For concussion protocol, I think the team did me the biggest service throughout that... They were protecting me from myself. Me and my family are very thankful for the Dolphins."

  • The Carolina Panthers hired Josh McCown as their quarterbacks coach.
  • Cincinnati Bengals QBs coach Dan Pitcher had interest from various teams for offensive coordinator positions. Still, he's electing to stay with the Bengals and QB Joe Burrow through at least 2023. Pitcher should gain interest in OC roles next season.

#Bengals QBs coach Dan Pitcher will remain in Cincy for another season working with Joe Burrow, sources say. Pitcher had interviewed twice with the #Buccaneers and was considered a top candidate. Figures to be in the mix for OC jobs again next year. https://t.co/ZbhSqNq7sg
