Sunday QB Highlights: Mike White shines

11/28/2022

Mike White came out swinging, immediately showing he was better than Zach Wilson, giving the New York Jets a 7-0 lead on this eight-yard touchdown to Garrett Wilson.

White and the Jets came out with a win, with White throwing for 315 yards and three touchdowns.

It's safe to say, this will be Mike White's job for a little bit.

The Jets play the Minnesota Vikings next.

The Miami Dolphins ended up pulling starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa before the end of the game because they had the Houston Texans so far in the hole.

The Dolphins were up 30-6 when they pulled Tagovailoa with just over three minutes left in the third quarter.

Tagovailoa earned these MVP chants this week.
Sam Darnold played his first game of the season after suffering an ankle injury in the preseason. And.. surprise. He added a much needed spark to the otherwise lifeless Carolina Panthers offense.

Darnold didn't blow anyone away - he was 11-of-19 for 164 yards and one touchdown - but he was better than Russell Wilson and the tanking Denver Broncos by a mile.

And now I present to you, the most Sam Darnold touchdown of all time.

Panthers head coach Steve Wilks confirmed Darnold will remain the starter after the bye week.

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence had one of his best games of the season, and one of his toughest challenges in the Baltimore Ravens defense.

Lawrence marched his team down the field in the final seconds of the game, and then executed a near-perfect two-point converstion for the win.

more Qb news:

  • The Green Bay Packers, and more notably, Aaron Rodgers, aren't doing so hot this season. Rodgers has been dealing with a thumb injury for most of the season, which has been revealed to be an avulsion fracture. This injury usually requires surgery - Rodgers has been playing through it. A few more L's and we could see Rodgers heading to injured reserve and possibly surgery.
    • A report from Jay Glazer on Sunday stated that the injury was affecting Rodgers' accuracy.
  • Deshaun Watson is set to be reinstated on Monday. Yuck.
    • Jacoby Brissett spoke after the game (and his last presumed start for the Browns) about how grateful he was for his opportunity to step in for Watson.

#Browns QB Jacoby Brissett: "Obviously, grateful for this opportunity. Grateful for those men in that room. We've got to stack them."

  • Matthew Stafford was ruled out for Week 12 following a neck strain. Stafford also dealt with "concussion issues" (depending on who you ask) the week before. With a current 3-7 record, it seems stupid to play your QB, who may be dealing with serious injuries, so Stafford may not return this season.

The Los Angeles Rams are uncertain when or if quarterback Matthew Stafford will return this season.https://t.co/6dbAKLnr1x

  • Some confusion ahead of Bears-Jets: Chicago Bears backup quarterback Trevor Siemian injured his oblique in warmups, pointing towards third-stringer Nathan Peterman making the start for Chicago. Siemian got a pain-killing injection and ended up as the starting quarterback. It was quite riveting.
    • Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said starter Justin Fields is getting better, but didn't commit to him being back next week. "We think that he's getting better every single day. At gametime today he wasn't ready to perform and protect himself."
  • A semi-viral moment occurred when Denver Broncos defensive tackle screamed at quarterback Russell Wilson on the sideline (he is all of us). Wilson downplayed it (because of course he did), saying he just wanted "a spark." Mmmk.

Russell Wilson on exchange with Mike Purcell: "Mike and I are on the same page. He came off after he kicked the field goal and he was pissed off. He said we've got to f-in go. I agreed. ... There's no animosity. We've got to win."
