jets hire robert saleh
After firing head coach Adam Gase 15 games too late, the New York Jets hired former San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh to take over the position. The team announced their decision on Thursday night. The deal is for five seasons.
Saleh has been the Niners' DC since 2017 and was a highly-touted candidate -- interviewing with almost every team who had a head coaching job open. He's expected to bring aboard San Francisco's passing game coordinator, Mike LaFleur. Saleh has high expectations for this team -- I'm talking like burning this whole thing down and starting over-type expectations. The Jets have the second-overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, which should help get things off the ground.
