One of the main things that are going to look mighty different for the NFL in 2020 is the absence of fans in the stadium. Week One, for the Tennessee Titans, is a no-go, but beyond that, the team is hoping to accommodate fans.
As I've mentioned before, the time-lines on these sorts of things are wonky. As we were saying back in April, we are still not entirely sure of what will happen with the virus, so it's impossible to say, "On ___ day, we'll be allowing fans into the stadium." Some fans, the Kansas City Chiefs are one, are allowing small numbers of fans to begin the season, and even then, we are not sure how it is going to go. Will there be an outbreak? Will we even still be playing games by then? Will fans be able to behave themselves and not ruin it for everyone else? I'd love to be optimistic regarding all of these questions, but the fact is -- we don't know.
