"zero chance"

  • Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim was asked on Thursday about the possibility of trading star quarterback Kyler Murray, to which he responded, "zero chance." Murray and the Cardinals have been going through a ton of drama this offseason, from complaints about contracts to deleting the team off of social media, but both sides want to get something done. Regardless, Murray is tied to the team for at least another two years, and perhaps Arizona could use the franchise tag beyond that.

  • According to reports, the Kansas City Chiefs are unlikely to trade for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel. While they don't exactly have the draft picks to give in return for another star wideout, they seem content to turn to Mecole Hardman, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and the draft to replace Tyreek Hill.

Some speculation that @Chiefs are interested in @49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel because of draft capital. A team source says a move for Samuel — or DK Metcalf, A.J. Brown or Terry McLaurin — isn’t likely. Told all those options “are probably all long shots at this point.”

  • San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo had shoulder surgery about six weeks ago, and while not at voluntary team workouts, he is rehabbing his shoulder offsite. Garoppolo is not throwing now but thinks he'll be good to go for training camp. Whether or not that will be with the Niners is yet to be seen, as he was expected to be traded this offseason, with the starting job being given to Trey Lance.

Just spoke to #49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo. He said shoulder surgery 6 weeks ago went well. He's not throwing yet. He believes he'll be ready for training camp but "there's a lot of steps in between now and then but I think we'll be ready by then."

  • Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said extension talks with star wide receiver DK Metcalf have not begun. While Metcalf is seeking a new deal, he still showed up to voluntary workouts for the team, which Carroll also praised. Recently, Metcalf has been linked in trade talks with the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs. It's unclear if this will happen or not, so we'll just have to wait and see.

Pete Carroll says they've yet to directly address contract extension talks with DK Metcalf, who is here participating in offseason program
